The Canals Project è il bel progetto che ha preso possesso delle facciate adiacenti ai famosi canali londinesi per cambiarne l’aspetto e l’impatto urbano il tutto attraverso l’apporto di star internazionale della pittura in strada, noi ci eravamo soffermati sui lavori di RUN (qui) e la splendida combo tra Moneyless e Mark Lyken per il loro progetto congiunto (qui), a distanza di diverse settimane esce ora un bel video recap proprio su quest’ultima realizzazione.
Girato da dal film maker Gordon Beswick, il video si presenta come un bel approfondimento sull’opera portata a termine da Mark Lyken e Moneyless, ci dà modo di vedere i due artisti impegnati con la loro facciata con le fasi di realizzazione, la curiosità dei passanti e le parole dei due stessi interpreti.
Prossima tappa per il progetto congiunto “The Forms and Spaces Project” firmato Lyken and Moneyless prederà vita proprio qui da noi in Italia, perciò stay tuned, nel frattempo schiacciate play e gustatevi il bel video.

Filmaker Gordon Beswick captures Mark Lyken and Teo Moneyless’s latest collaboration for The Canals Project in Hackney Wick, London.

The Canals Project is a series of new, curated art commissions for East London’s canal system, commissioned by The Legacy List and supported by Canal and River Trust and Bloomberg LP. Internationally renowned street artists have been selected to participate in the project.

“I’d worked on a small project with Scottish artist Mark Lyken a couple of years ago, and found him really good and easy to work with. So when I saw the collaboration he did with Teo Moneyless, from Italy, I thought it would be amazing to bring both of them to London. I’m really excited about the new work these two will do. One of the most interesting trends in graffiti and street art over the last few years has been artists playing around with abstraction in public spaces. Mark and Teo do this with an amazing amount of flair and just a bit of sci-fi geekishness.”
