Se mai ci fossero dubbi sull’enorme talento di Liqen con questa ultima perla li rispediamo diretti al mittente, l’artista spagnolo atterra in Inghilterra per prendere parte al già ricco Chichester Street Art Festival.

L’artista prende ampissimo spunto dalla particolare fisionomia urbana della città profondamente incastrata tra i fasti medioevali e la frenesia dell’epoca moderna, tra misteri ed un atmosfera magica, l’interprete inserisce in questa sua ultima opera una serie di dettagli presi direttamente dalla cattedrali, dai cornicioni e dalle strutture antiche tipiche della cittadina.

Cinque giorni di lavoro tra freddo pioggia e vento in cui Liqen esamina la parete ed immette attraverso pennelli, rulli e vernici acriliche tutto il suo inconfondibile stile, “Flight of ENIGMA” si diffonde sulla parete, vediamo un enorme essere metà animale metà antropomorfo sorvolare una serie di bocche fumanti dai volti umani, poggia lo sguardo su una giungla di mattoni, e la stessa città osservata dall’alto, un monito, un istantanea della eccessiva industrializzazione, lo spagnolo ci regala una cascata di dettagli pazzeschi, animali appoggiati sui tetti, volti, e minuscoli cartelloni, pazzesco.

Liqen si lascia poi andare ad una serie di riflessioni, prima sul suo particolare approccio spiegandoci l’importanza del lasciarci andare, esternando il nostro inconscio, i nostri sentimenti per poi spiegarci la personale differenza tra street art ed arte di strada, il suo lavoro non è una ripetitività ma piuttosto una lettura vera e propria dell’ambiente di volta in volta diversa ed in modo diverso.

Do not believe in complete happiness, not now, suffering is in the blood of all humans, … On this wall I saw a puzzling picture, a kind of ser flying in the sky gray block waiting for the repose of the souls in full mundosciente pollution, lost in a jungle of bricks.

I was working with the wizard Fernando Vazquez, the weather was really crazy, fighting the wind, cold and rain, but we were finally able to finish it in almost 5 days, everything was done with brush and acrylic paint.

With this work I want to do a tribute to Ray Harryhausen. And give special thanks to the great Neal, Amanda and Griff.

I’m not in the same way as the “street art” in the sense that the “street art” works as a brand and uses a trick or formula to repeat every time the same style icon or anywhere in the world, I feel that I do a reading on the environment and their very different ways. So be smart and do not think fast food. There are more than labels to slip into a bag, but is not to be taken seriously.
