Augustine Kofie on “The Qualities of Light” Video Project

Augustine Kofie primo ospite per la nuova serie video “The Quality of Light”, un nuovo progetto video curato e diretto da Shane Sakanoi of Draftsmen e Rich Hama.

L’idea è quella di creare una serie di video per mettere in evidenza le personalità creative di Los Angeles e dintorni, Sakanoi , da buon amico del grande artista, entra direttamente nello studio dello stesso portando le telecamera, dove diverso tempo, ad interagire con l’artista.

Kofie si racconta ben volentieri spiegando le ispirazioni per il suo processo creativo, il suo amore per la raccolta e la catalogazione, e il continuo rinnovarsi e sperimentare del suo lavoro.

I must say, after a number of years giving it up to cameras for interviews an the like, this is by far my most cherished contribution to a doc piece to date. Yes, I did have some say in the style for the film and a bit of direction and I’m sure that’s helping the sway of my judgement, but the guys went somewhere else with it and I’m happy for that.
