108 x Elzo Durt – “Crossroad#1” New Exhibition at Doppelgaenger Gallery
Dopo la splendida “Seventeen Dens“ negli spazi della Ego Gallery, 108 si ricarica e parte alla volta di Bari per presentare, insieme ad Elzo Durt “Crossroad#1” all’interno della Doppelgaenger Gallery.
La galleria con questo show vuole porre l’accento sulla cresciata e sullo sviluppo di artisti nati in strada e successivamente evoluti in un percorso molto diverso e personale.
Un esibizione che ci incuriosisce parecchio e che aprirà le porte questo Martedì 5 Marzo alle ore 18.30, per il momento poche info su quello che i due artisti presentaranno, ma restate sintonizzati per tutte le immagini dell’apertura e se vi trovate in zona, farci un salto è d’obbligo.
Doppelgaenger is delighted to announce Crossroad #1, a double exhibition by artists 108 (Italy, 1978) and Elzo Durt ( Belgium, 1980). The title refers to a possible crossing of two different artistic trails, risen from the street but, however, separated.
The panorama of urban art, prominently evolved during the last ten years, from media, academic and institutional point of view. Usually attributable to graffiti and street art, develops sequences of application and phenomenon, different from its original, pure and well-know characteristics. But, at the same time, it reveals stylistic performances from ‘900, or earlier, avant-garde.
Our gallery will be reviewing a double prospective of this versatility. Even if artists’s heritage comes from the same urban background, they achieve in a really different style. 108’s works, remind to abstract art and to a survey between geometrical and spatial thematic, supported by theoretical work Abstract Graffiti, by Cedar Lewisohn. Elzo Durt, graphic designer and musician, tipyfies his silk screen printings with disparate characters and themes; a sort of psychedelic, flemish, arcimboldo’s style set. Thanks to this first exhibition, Doppelgaenger will increase current and future advancement of italian and international urban art.
